Business and Project Developer (M/F)
About the role
Amarenco is seeking a Business and Project Developer on a 12-month fixed-term contract to strengthen its team in Austria and support the growth of its renewable energy activities in the country. This position aims to reinforce the Business with a strong development profile, bringing at least three years of experience in PV and BESS project development in Austria.
The Business and Project Developer is responsible for identifying and developing renewable energy projects from early-stage prospecting to lease agreement signing. The role involves coordinating internal teams, managing stakeholders, and ensuring projects meet technical, financial, and regulatory requirements to support Amarenco’s growth and sustainability objectives.
Your main responsibilities
Identify and qualify new renewable energy project opportunities (solar, storage), including site scouting and potential assessment;
Conduct or oversee technical, economic, environmental, and regulatory feasibility studies to evaluate project viability;
Develop and manage comprehensive project development plans, including schedules, budgets, resources, and key milestones;
Negotiate and formalize land agreements with landowners and agricultural operators up to the signing of lease option or lease agreements;
Coordinate internal teams (technical, legal, financial, QHSE) and external partners to ensure effective project progress and delivery;
Ensure regulatory compliance of all projects with local, national, and international renewable energy requirements;
Establish and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders such as landowners, local authorities, public institutions, and service providers;
Prepare and present project progress reports, performance indicators, and recommendations to management and relevant stakeholders;
Identify and manage technical, financial, and regulatory risks, implementing appropriate mitigation measures;
Ensure quality and administrative rigor across all project documentation, including data accuracy, filing, and reporting within Amarenco’s information systems.
Profil sought
You hold a Master’s degree (Bac +5) in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Project Management, or a related field, and you have at least ten years of successful experience in a similar role managing renewable energy projects. You have developed strong expertise in renewable energy technologies, including solar power, energy storage and agrivoltaics, as well as advanced project management skills covering planning, budgeting, risk and resource management. Your background enables you to assess the economic and environmental performance of projects while ensuring compliance with local and national energy and environmental regulations. A solid understanding of sustainability principles and agricultural practices is also essential.
You demonstrate excellent communication skills and are comfortable working with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, including project teams, clients, public authorities and partners. Driven and perseverant, you are able to confidently advocate for your projects and navigate complex stakeholder environments. Recognised for your strong analytical reasoning, negotiation abilities and attention to detail, you ensure rigorous monitoring of studies and deliverables. Organised and adaptable, you can manage several projects simultaneously at different stages of development.
