Project Developer (M/F)
About the role
Amarenco is seeking a Project Developer on a 12-month fixed-term contract to strengthen its team in Austria and support the growth of its renewable energy activities in the country. This position aims to reinforce the Business with a strong development profile, bringing at least five years of experience in PV and BESS project development in Austria.
The Project developer is responsible for leading and managing projects aimed at developing, implementing, and operating renewable energy sources (Solar, Storage, AgriSolar). The Project developer ensures the success of projects while meeting the company’s financial, environmental, and sustainability objectives.
Your main responsibilities :
Progress the Portfolio of local project through all Development stage as per schedule, within budget and according to specified quality, safety & environmental standards;
Coordinate the work of a multi-disciplinary project team;
Ensure compliance with internal processes, standards and reporting requirements;
Monitor and analyse the project's economic indicators throughout its development;
Participate in the signing of the project lease with the owners;
Apply project management techniques including risk & opportunity Management;
Manage relationships with third-party advisors, service providers and contractors;
Engage with external stakeholders including landowners, local authorities, system operators & regulators to de-risk project delivery;
Support colleagues in the delivery of EPC contractor procurement, project financing and contract negotiation;
Participate in the evaluation of projects/portfolios during external acquisition phases (M&A);
Participate in various associations and professional working groups in the sector;
Participate in various project reviews and steering committees.
Profil sought:
You hold a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Project Management, or a related field, and you have at least five years of successful experience in a similar role managing renewable energy projects. Throughout your career, you have developed strong expertise in renewable energy technologies, including solar power, energy storage, and AgriSolar solutions, as well as a solid understanding of agricultural practices and farm operations.
You demonstrate advanced project management capabilities, with proven experience in planning, budgeting, risk assessment, and resource management. Comfortable handling projects at various stages of development, you are highly organised and able to manage multiple assignments simultaneously with accuracy and rigour. Your analytical skills enable you to assess the economic and environmental benefits of renewable energy projects, while ensuring compliance with local and national energy and environmental regulations.
Recognised for your excellent communication and negotiation skills, you are able to collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, both internal and external, including project teams, clients, public institutions, and partners. You combine energy, perseverance, and assertiveness to successfully promote and advance projects. Adaptable and solution-oriented, you thrive in dynamic environments requiring interaction with diverse stakeholders.
Fluent in English, both written and spoken, you are committed to Amarenco’s mission of Regeneration and Sustainable Development. Regular travel is required as part of the role.
