About the position
Within a team dedicated to the development of renewable energies, you will play a key role in the European expansion of our photovoltaic activities. As a cartographer, you will be responsible for deploying and adapting the mapping methodology developed in France across four new European markets (Austria, Spain, Portugal, Ireland), while integrating the local specificities of each territory.
Main responsibilities
- Deploy and adapt the French mapping methodology to the local specificities of the new European markets
- Structure and manage geographic databases (land registries, networks, zoning, climate, protected areas, easements, urban planning documents, etc.)
- Conduct multi-criteria analyses to identify high solar potential areas and produce thematic maps to support strategic decision-making
- Assess the technical and economic feasibility of projects by integrating geographical constraints
- Support development teams in identifying and assessing potential sites
- Train and assist local teams in the use of mapping and GIS tools
- Ensure methodological consistency and share best practices with the team based in France
- Administer and optimize Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and integrate new tools (cloud platforms, AI, advanced visualization, etc.)
Profile sought
You hold a higher education degree (minimum Bac+2 to Bac+3) in geography, geomatics, surveying, or a related field. You have at least 2 years of experience in a similar position, ideally within the renewable energy sector. You have strong skills in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), geographic databases, and spatial data acquisition and analysis tools (maps, GPS, satellite imagery). Knowledge of programming languages (Python, R, SQL) is a plus.
You have excellent communication skills and can present your analyses clearly and concisely. Rigorous, curious, and a good team player, you are comfortable working both internally and with external partners.
Fluency in spoken and written English is essential.
